The disciples are in need of a reassuring voice…a reassuring word.

What I am saying is “Got You!” As in, “God’s Got you, the Spirit’s got you, Jesus’ has got you!”
Got it?
Got-chu, God’s got-chu…
No problems!
No biggie!
It’s all little piddley-stuff…anyways…
It really truly is…
This too shall pass…

Don’t make mountains out of mole hills, don’t blow things out of proportion…you can handle this…of course you can, you know you can…
You are in good hands with God…
The “best of hands…”
And do not let anyone tell you – otherwise…
Is there any other better place to be…than in the hands of our loving, forgiving, merciful God?
Why all the fretting?
Why all the concern?
Why all the anguish!
You know apprehension, distress, agitation, worriment, uneasiness, being upset or just moping around…all of that “stuff” is for the birds! You know that, right? It is for the birds, I tell you!
I mean, you do understand it, right?
He’s got you!
He really truly has!
What is there to worry about? Nothing I tell you… God is with you and there is no place, no physical locale (location) where he cannot go. The Spirit, the spirit of the Living God is with you (wherever you happen to be) and there is no place where the Holy Spirit cannot go.
It doesn’t matter if you are at the Villa, the Courts, the Gardens or at Francis House, God is with you…
Jesus promised all of us, a long time ago that he would be with us always, even to the close of the age…So Jesus is present with you, as well!
No worries, right?
Our God just so happens to be BIGGER THAN anything that life can throw at you…
Our God is BIGGER THAN all the storms of this life and living…
Our God is BIGGER THAN the daily ups and downs that we all experience on a regular basis.
Sometimes, life can really throw some “stuff” at you…can’t it?
Our perception just might be that we are being “tested…”
Well guess what? “My God” grades on a curve…”My God” does pass/fail…
There is always grace…an abundance of grace…Grace that overflows…and drips down…and runneth all over the place…that would be my God…
Hang on to your faith, tap into your faith, utilize the faith that is already within you!
You see, the disciples were scared and all out of sorts because Jesus said he was leaving them…
But at the very same time, he also said that the Spirit would come “to them” and “abide with them…”
God would never “abandon them…”
After all: “They” belonged to “him!”
Nor did Jesus have any thought of abandoning them…
They just needed to “listen for a moment” and to “understand,” “they needed to hear” what was being said… that it was going to be to “their advantage” that Jesus was going away…
Because the Father would send the Advocate…the Holy Spirit to guide and comfort them and to be with them always…
There was nothing that they could not overcome…
Likewise, there is nothing that we cannot overcome…
O sure, sometimes things seem “hectic and crazy” and things “are not going the way: we would like them to go…things can seem “uncertain and up in the air…”
But God is with you…
He’s gotchu!
Never forget…very much like those first century disciples, he’s gotchu…and he’s not about to let you go! Amen.
